Bernard's first ever meeting with Fred Holmes - father-in-law - at daughter-in-laws Wedding Day Margate in ~1954. Fred Holmes said to Bernard during this photo shot "looks like you'll be next mate!" (that's why Bernard had not option but to smile....)

HRH Princess Anne and Bernard Evans
Press Clipping. Opening of Mary Ward College of Further Education - in Keyworth Nottinghamshire 23 June 1970. Opening ceremony - plaque. Bernard was Principle Lecturer in Art for period 1969-1977. The college was later converted to the British Geological Survey Headquarters around 1977 and has been their HQ ever since. HRH Princess Anne returned in 2009 to open a new William Smith Science Building at the BGS HQ in Keyworth. Video link below:
